…but my question is why? The game is selling for 800 points through the marketplace, but didn’t I just buy a 360 version of Tetris about 6-7 months ago? I bought Tetris Evolution when it launched because I wanted a “Tetris” game on the 360 (more so on XBL), and have to admit that I didn’t like it at first. Over time I grew to appreciate and really like the game, but why are they (MS) countering their own titles with a lower priced alternative? This decision baffles me…

Maybe this new lower price Tetris will be more acceptable by the masses that wouldn't pay the higher (wasn't it $40?) price of the retail Tetris version.
I know I personally wouldn't pay $40 for a Tetris game, but I might be convinced to part with $10 for a really polished, well done Tetris game. A whole lot of $10 bills adds up to more than a few $40 purchases (in the grand scheme of things).
Maybe you are right, I have heard a lot of people were not too happy with the previous Tetris version, even though it only retailed for $29.99... I may be more accepting to it because I got it as a gift. I don't know...
